ALL THE LAUNCH SYSTEMS OF ISRO.
Today I am going to talk about all the space launch systems of ISRO. ISRO has many launch systems and rockets. Here are all the information.
Mainly, ISRO has four launch vehicles. Those are-SSLV, GSLV, ASLV,PSLV
⦁ SSLV: It is one of a launch vehicle of ISRO. The full form of SSLV is small satellite launch vehicle. It is developed by our space research center ISRO(Indian Space Research Organisation). It has a special payload capacity i.e. It can deliver 500 kg to the low orbit of our blue planet and SSLV rocket can deliver upto 300 kg to Sun synchronous orbit. VSSC(Vikram Sarabhai Space Center) completed the design of the SSLV rocket. The height of the SSLV rocket is 34 meters and the diameter of the rocket is 2 meter. It is very heavy. The weight of the rocket is 120000 kg. The cost of the rocket SSLV rocket per launch is 30 crore rupees.
⦁ PSLV : It is bigger and better than SSLV(Small Satellite Launch vehicle). PSLV is a rocket made by ISRO. The full form of PSLV is Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle. It can place upto 1600 kg remote sensing satellites into sun-synchronous orbit and 1050 kg into geostationary transfer orbit. ISRO Built 5 variants Of the PSLV rocket. ISRO built 5 variants of this rocket based on payload capacity. The height of PSLV rocket is 44m and the diameter of PSLV is 2.8 meter. It is a active rocket. The launch site of the rocket is Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The name of the 5 variants of PSLV is - PSLV-CA, PSLV-XL, PSLV-DL, PSLV-QL, PSLV-3S. The boosters of the PSLV rocket produces 1100000 lb thrust. The cost per launch of the PSLV rocket is about 130 to 200 crore ruppes. The mass of PSLV-CA is 230000.0 kg and the mass of the PSLV-XL is 320000.0 kg. The launch site of the rocket is Sriharikota, Hyderabad. ISRO used PSLV many times, such as - for Chandrayaan1, for Mangalyaan(MOM) etc.
⦁ GSLV : GSLV is most powerful rocket of the space agency ISRO. GSLV is much better than other launch vehicles of ISRO(Indian Space Research Organisation). The full form of GSLV is Geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle. GSLV rocket has many variants, like- GSLV Mk I , GSLV Mk II, GSLV Mk III. The height of the rocket GSLV is 49.1 Meter and its diameter is about 2.80 meter. It is very very heavy. The mass of GSLV is 970,314.0 lb. GSLV is a three stage rocket. It has solid liquid and cyrogenic stages. GSLV can place upto 5000 kg payload to low Earth orbit. The length of the first stage is 20.2 meter and the length of the second GS2 stage is 11.90 meter and the length of the second stage is 11.60 meter the length of the third stage is 8.70 meter. The GSLV Mk I is retired. GSLV II and GSLV III are active.
⦁ ASLV : The full form of ASLV rocket is Augmented Satellite Launch Vehicle or Advanced Satellite Launch Vehicle. ASLV is a 5 stages launch vehicle. The height of the ASLV rocket is approximately 24 meter. The diameter of the rocket ASLV is 1 meter and its mass is 41000 kg. It has 4 launches. 1 is successful. ASLV is now a retired rocket.
