HOW MANY PLANETS ARE THERE IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM ?

                                                           Planets in our solar system

In this post I am going to talk about planets in our galaxy. There are many planets in our solar system, such as - Mercury, Venus, Earth...etc.

Mercury: Mercury is the most nearest planet to our Sun. It takes 87.97 days to orbit the sun. The radius of the planet Mercury is about 2,439.7 Km. It has no atmosphere. So, Mercury is colder than Venus.

Venus: Venus is the second nearest planet to the big Sun. It is the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after the moon. The radius of the planet Venus is about 6,051 Km. The surface area of the planet Venus is about 460 million km2 . Venus orbits the sun in 243 days and orbits in its qown axis in 225 days. Venus is called earth's sister planet because of their similar size. It contains a very dense atmosphere of carbon dioxide. Venus consists more than 96% carbon dioxide in its atmosphere.

Earth: Earth is our own planet. Earth is the third nearest planet to the Sun. I thhink that earth is the most finnest planet in the solar system. Earth has 7 continents and 5 oceans. Asia is the biggest continent among others. According to the radiometric dating estimation , Earth is formed over 4.5 billion years ago. Earth contains a satellight called moon. Earth orbits the Sun in approximately 365 days and orbits around itself in approximately 24 hours. The surface gravity of the earth is approximately 9.8 ms-2 . The circumference of the earth is about 40 thousand km. The weight of our planet is about 6*10 to the power 24  Kg. (There is a science fiction story about how the earth was created, click on the link : https://generalmatterandsciencefic.blogspot.com/2020/05/how-earth-was-created.html)

Mars: Mars is our neighbour planet , It is a nice planet to visit. It is a red planet. Mars is the second-smallest planet in our solar system. There are many satellights who visited Mars, made by earthly beings. Mars is smaller than our Earth. We can see Mars from our Earth in the night sky as a bright red star. Mars orbits its own axis in approximately 23 hours. Mars can have life. For this purpose many space agency visited Mars, suceh as - NASA, ISRO, etc. ISRO' mangalyaan(A Mars orbiter Mission) visited the Mars. NASA's many rover landed in the surface of the planet Mars, such as- Opurtunity, Curiosity, etc. The gravity of the Mars is 3.711 ms-2 . Mars has two satellights named dimos and phobos.

Jupiter: Jupiter is the biggest and heaviest planet in our solar system. Jupiter is the fifth planet from the big Sun. It is a gas planet or gas giant. Jupiter orbites around the Sun in 12 Earth years. 69,911 Km is the radius of the planet Jupiter. The mass of Jupiter is about 1.898*10 to the power 27 Kg. The surface area of Jupiter is about 61.42 billion km2 . Jupiter has many satellights like- Europa, Ganymede, lo, Dia, Himalia, Carme etc. The surface gravity of Jupiter is 24.79 ms-2 . Pioneer 10 was the first spacecraft to visit Jupiter.

Saturn: Saturn is the 6th planet from the Sun. Saturn is The second largest planet in our solar system. Saturn orbits the sun in 29 years. It is also a gas giant. 58,232 Km is the radius of the planet Saturn. Saturn has also many moons but Titan is the biggest. 10h 42m is the lenght of a day in Saturn. The surface gravity of Saturn is 10.44 ms-2 . The mass of Saturn is about 5.683*10 to the power 26 kg.

Uranus: Uranus is the third largest planet in our solar system. It orbits around the Sun in 84 years. Its radius is about 25,362 km.

Neptune: Neptune orbits the Sun in 165 earth years. The distance from Neptune and Sun is about 4.495 billion Km. Its raduius is about 24,622 Km. Neptune has many moons. Triton is one of them.

Pluto: Pluto is a dwarf planet. Pluto is in the kuiper belt. Pluto takes 248 years to orbit our massive sun. Its radius is about 1,188 Km. Pluto has many moons. Charon is one of them. The sky colour of pluto is blue.
